Ideas For Wearing A Dress Up Costume

Dress Up Costume

There can be many reasons that you may find yourself in need of a dress up costume.

The first one that comes to mind is, of course, Halloween. Everybody loves Halloween. You can be anyone or anything you like that one night of the year. There is nothing more exciting than baby's first Halloween. But, the fun continues long past that first one. One of the most celebrated of all the holidays is Halloween. People plan for it months in advance. Finding decorations, deciding on their dress up costume and scheduling their parties.

Then the other holidays follow. You can wear a dress up costume as Pilgrims at Thanksgiving, Santa at Christmas, the New Years Eve Baby on New Years, Cupid on Valentines Day, Leprechauns on St. Patrick's Day, the Easter Bunny on Easter, Uncle Sam on the Fourth of July and the list goes on and on.

Next you have the regional dress up costume traditions centered around festivals. Mardi Gras, anyone? If you have never been to one, make plans to attend, at least once in your life.

Planning on attending the midnight show of The Rocky Horror Picture Show? First, get your water gun. Second, get your dress up costume. Cult movie showings are a great place to let your creativity shine. Don't just wear regular clothes, get into the spirit of things and wear a costume.

A dress up costume just for the kids.

Children's theme parties are a great way to continue the spirit (no pun intended) of Halloween. You can center an entire party around one particular theme. My grand daughter just had her second birthday. She had a Tinkerbell party. She could just as easily had a Winnie the Poo party. That's another of her favorites, but this month, Tinkerbell is her favorite. Boys love Spiderman, Batman, Star Wars, Superman, and Power Rangers theme parties. There are so many themes that it would be impossible to list them all here, but the important thing to know is that you can find just about anything that they want for their party.

If your little one is taking dancing lessons, they are going to need a dress up costume for their recitals. Be sure and take your camera.

Adults need a dress up costume sometimes too.

Yep, adults like theme parties just as much as kids do. Throw a pirate dress up costume party and just see how many swashbuckling pirates and comely wenches R.S.V.P. immediately. It's amazing what full grown adults will do to have fun.

Another thing that some adults and kids like to do is reenactments. You have Civil War Reenactments, Revolutionary War Reenactments, Medieval Reenactments and Renaissance Reenactments. Most people like to dress in what is called "period" costumes, meaning clothing that was worn during that particular era.

As you can see, a dress up costume is something that people of all ages can enjoy. Wearing a dress up costume is a great way to have fun and celebrate important holidays and events in your life.
